Metallic Bulb Anemone

Hello! I am new to saltwaterfish.com and new to the hobby. I own a 72 gallon tank with 50 lbs. of live rock, many hermit crabs, four peppermint shrimp, one arrow crab, one coral banded shrimp, a bi-color angel, chromis damselfish, and dragonface pipefish. I recently bought a metallic bulb anemone. When I put in the tank, it didn't move for a while, but then eventually found a spot in the rock and away form the light. It has been fine, but recently the tentacles don't bubble up anymore and they are stringy. Is this because of lack of light or food. If so, how to I correct the problem??%

This is normal. From what research I have done, it seems that when the tentacles are short and compact its in a neutral or 'full' mode, and when it extends its tentacles thats when it is hungry. Try feeding it, they are all different and some have preferences to other types of food, at least in the beginning.

from all that i have read, no one knows why this actually happen. people have speculated that it is because of the lighting, food, water quality... but one person may have a bubbly tipped one with the same exact parameters as someone with a nem that has long and squiggly. it doesn't mean anything is wrong, it just seems to be the personality of the nem.

Can you post a picture? How old is your tank? What kind of light do you have? What are your parameters?
