i am going to get 2 250 watt retro fit kit off ---- and you can choose your own bulb.
the choices are 10k, 14k, and 20k
i will also be pairing it up with 2 48" normal output 40 watt actinic blue bulbs.
i want a good looking white effect with a hint of blue, but enough blue to make the corals and clams look good, and glow.

IMO get 14K
The 40 watts will not be any good for corals and you can use them for the blue effect if you want more blue or not if the 14s are blue enough or change them to white bulbs if the 14s are too blue..

I run 2 400 watt 20k MH's in my tank with 4 20k blue attinic bulbs...my tank looks SOOOOOOOO good...i would NEVER go back to 10k bulbs EVER.

I have 14 k hamiltons but would like to try 10k for the more natural colors. It's all a matter of preference really.

it is really, just remember over time bulbs change spectrum so if you have a 10k its going to look like a 8k in 5 months....
