mh bulbs 10,000 or 5,000?

when using metal haloid bulbs will 5,000k work or is it absoluty nessesary to have 10,000 or more :notsure:

6700K is the absolute MINIMUM you need for aquariums, 10,000K being the preferred minimum. 5000K is not enough for aquatic life. I prefer 14,000 or 20,000K personally as they are a little more blue and make everything look better.

i also like the 20,000 look better than the 10,000...but you should get a 10,000 imho

No, No, No 5000k bulbs... I'd look into a 10,000k with acticics or a 14k-15k myself.

5000K will work but it will be yellow/green. Not a pleasant look.

I use 10k bulbs without and actinics and everything grows pretty well. I like the look without actinic supplementation, but that is just a matter of opinion.
