MH Hight from water?

How high do I put my 3 250w MH (10,000) from the water.
I was thinking make it so that the MH bulbs would be approximately 32-36 " from the bottom of the tank it is abought 9-15in from water.
The 4 140w VHO to the sides of the MH's.
Is it to close to the water?
I would like any input.

the height you are describing sounds right, 9 in for the MH. if you would want you could lower the VHO bulbs, but keeping them 9 in would be fine as well, esp if you use them as actintic bulbs.

2 X URI Super Actinic 72" 160W
2 x URI Aquasun 72" 160W
3 x 250W MH 10,000K
Moonlights: don't know what type yet.
would it be better to put my vho's lower then the MH's
