I don't think heat should be a problem, 75g, 12" elevation, fans...not bad.
I know you could keep Softies and Shrooms. LPS and SPS...perhaps if you kept 'em up high.

shouldnt be a problem most people w/ 75's that have halide have the same setup only thing is u may want to upgrade the fans to a bigger cfm if necessary but if they both like 30 or 40 cfm it'll be sweet

personally i would go getro fit if u have a canopy because thats what its made for and retro is cheaper usually and less heat build up and easier to get to usually also "bulb replacing"

Just to give you an idea....
I run mh and pc's on my tank.
If the house stays 75 or below my tank has 0 heat issues.
If the house goes to 76 then my tank will go from 80 to 81 at the end of the light cycle
If the house goes to 77, then it goes from 80 to 81 in the middle of the light cycle.
If the house goes to 78 then it goes from 80-81 in the middle and then to 82 at the end of the cycle.
The house have never been above 78 but I know what will happen...

I have learned that getting your temp consistant is a game. Proper venting, water movement and fans are the key.
I have glass lids. Removing them will help.
Find that exact temp where your tank will change and work with it. Mine is 76.
Good luck.

You should be able to get around the heat issues with a couple of fans blowing in. Just have them mounted low so some of the air blows across the water and make a couple of vents up high so the hot air will be pushed out. With 150's mounted that high up you should be OK with moderate light SPS up high in the tank.
If you can swing it invest in reefoptix pendants or PFO mini pendants. The reflector makes a big difference in how much light makes it into the tank. Another option would be to step up to 250 watt halides and use 14K lamps. you don't need to run actinics with the good 14K lamps so you really aren't creating any more heat than running 150's with VHO's.
