MH - Need Help!

Hi people,
Yesterday I got my MH 150W, and need some help for setup.
1) How height should I put it over my tank? 30cm is enough?
2) I read that 6hr of light is enough, is that true?

I place mine about 6" over my tank. I kept my lighting on timers, here's my lighting schedule:
12:00pm Actinics on
2:00pm Right Halides on
3:00pm Left Halides on
6:00pm Right Halides off
7:00pm Left Halides off
12:00am Actinics off
12:00am Moon Lights on
3:00am Moon Lights off
I have my moon lights going off around that time is because I can't stand lights while I sleep. This tank is placed right next to my bed. :happyfish

Thanks for replying.
Therefore, 6hr of light will be enough. I wanted to know because of the electricity bill my parent will kill me if the bill goes up too much.
Will try to look for a timer this weekend.

30 cm is about perfect.
The 150w halides will burn the same amount of electricity as a 150w light bulb so there will be a little spike in the electricity bill, but not that much.
6 hours will work for light timing. 8 would be better though.

Mine works just fine with the lighting schedule. I may go up another hour though to see what happens. :happyfish
