BigMac, you know a lot about MH, what do you recommend for a bulb, and how often should they be changed?
I have softies, 1 trumpet and 1 brain now. I want to be able to have higher light hard corals and maybe a few SPS and clams. It's a 125 gallon with 640 watts VHO now. I'll probably keep the actinics if I make the move to MH.
I was thinking about a dual 250 wat for the ends and a single 400 watt in the center.
Also, will this be too much light for what I have now? Stuff seems pretty happy.

Yea, it's 6 ft with 2 supports across the top, so I'll need 3 bulbs. Do you mean the 6500k? also, how long before changing bulbs?
Actually I better get a chiller first. At that price though, I might just buy the MH stuff and start on a canopy. 12" from the water right?

I bought my Mh of ---- and got a pretty good deal, the only problem is that it didn't come with a waranty. I am using Isahi 10000, they are a good light but they are very white. So you will need to buy some antinic pc or VHO bulbs to add some blue color.

So, MH bulbs don't need to be replaced until they burn out?
