mh or vho upgrade

i am getin ready to upgrade my lights right this time no lfs with bad info i have looked at reto for vho what would be better for a 90gal i allready have a nice oak hood with vent slots is mh better than vho or is it all preff

thanks gol i will start lookin at mh rather than vho thats what i was wonderin mh it will be then i want to upgrade 1 time not 3 hehe

Yeah I agree....I would go with MH.....especially with a 90g tank.....you will not be as limited as to what you can keep like you will with PC or VHO.....I would consider atleast running two NO actinics with the MH though.....even if you do get a 10K or better MH bulb! It makes a big diff!!!

you may face the same problem i do right now, if you have a standard canopy then keep in mind that MH bulbs must be at lest 8 inches above the water, most standard canopys are 7.5 inches tall which would put the bulbs around 3-4 inches above the water so that will be a consideration, good luck

thanks for the info on 8 inch above water i messrd it and it looks like i got like 8 inches total but i have a brother inlaw that is a finish carpenter and has tools the way my hood is i can add another board and revamp it i want to do it right this time so i guess its mh cause i dont want to limit myself and throw good money away and have to upgrade in the future i am lookin at my new hobbie in the long term thanks for the help
