i would like to see pics of mh bulbs of all kinds plz tell me what kind it is and how much it costed. i wnat a bluish tint to it also show pics of it shining on ur tanks. i am comparing types

Visually, I liked the radiums. I really liked the coloration given off by the corals. Growth wise, the radiums don't even compare to the Ushio's. A few weeks after adding the Ushio's, I noticed new buds and coralites forming on most of the corals. I've gotten much more growth running the Ushio's than the raidums. Overall, I liked the Ushio's the most. Around 50% of the radiums intensity is lost within the first 5 months. The radiums also cost more in the long run, as they need to be replaced every 6 months. The Ushio's color can easily be altered by adding some Actinic lighting.

Here is a pic of my 2 - 250w MH (10K Usios) running on a standard PFO ballast with 2- 110w VHO (URI Super Actenics) running on an Icecap 660 ballast. I like the looks of this combo. The Ushios are white in appearance and the VHO Actenics add just the right amt of blue IMO. I am very happy with this set up!

wow thats a nice tank....you do not have a hood for your tank....how do you prevent things from falling in or fish jumping...out

I think your question was directed at me? Thank you! I started my tank completely as a frag tank so it is still a little barren (have added a few colonies since). I have a PFO Hood that sits about 8 inches off the water that you can't see in this pic. All of my inhabitants are pretty mellow and I have never had any jumpers.

can u turn that into what i would need for a 30 gallon? i have a hot protine skimmer so i dont know how a canopey would work
