MH question

I have a 46G bowfront i'm about to set up for a reef tank, and I've been researching lighting options. I hear that the MH are the best option for reef tanks, but the prices i've seen are just not in my budget.
I found this on ---- and it sounds good (based on my limited knowledge of MH) but I wanted some other opinions before I go and spend my money on something that isn't really what I need.

My tank has the black center brace on top so I'm thinking I would use two of these units, one on each side.
Gimme some advice.

i've found good deals through hello lights, especially on pc's. i've heard that they're associated with this site, which i'm assuming is why it hasn't been deleted from this post. i actually found better prices on metal halide bulbs and ballasts through another site but i can't plug the name. if you want it email me at gregory(<--removethis-->)gampfer@yahoo.com

Thats the one i'm considering since I can't seem to afford the MH right now. Is your 46G a bowfront like mine? If so, do you have a glass top on it and where did you get it?

You can buy the ballast, mogul, and bulb separately. Wire it yourself and save lots of money. I am no electrician and I Did mine all for less than a hundred dollars. I have a 250 watt setup with a coralvue bulb. I am very happy with the results. It has been up and running for a couple months now. The bulb is the most expensive part.

I got a dual 175 watt 10K metal halide system from a website for $380. If that is within your budget let me know. It comes with two 12" batwing reflectors, dual ballast and two Ushio 175 watt 10K bulbs. It is completely plug and play.

I am interested in something "plug and play". Please send me an e-mail to basketmom@knology.net. Thanks
Has this made the temperature go up in the tank?

I'll send you the link once I get home. My set-up is an in-wall, therefore there is no canopy. With all of the open air I don't have a problem.
