I just put a tube anenome in the tank and put saw it start to bury its self in the sand then the lights went out. The next day i checked it in the morning and didnt see it then after work it was literally nowhere to be found. I have looked everywhere with a flash light besides tearing down and looking under the rocks. any ideas on where he could have gone. there are no power heads and the tank has a drilled over flow, but it looks normal and he is not in the overflow it self has anyone ever had this happen???where is he????

There are many possibilities here. First off, tube anemones can deflate dramatically and retract into their tubes under the sand. There they can stay tucked away for a while, can burrow under the sand to a different location in the tank, or can die unseen (I wouldn't assume this yet, but it can happen). They can also release their bodies from the tube and go free-floating (I can hear Tom Petty singing it
) throughout the tank.
Remember that tube anemones are nocturnal by nature, so be sure to take a peek well after the lights are out. I would keep an eye open and give it a few days. If you're very worried or impatient, you can gently search through the sand where you put the anemone and check on it.
