I purchased the 12 gallon Aquapod last week. I was excited to be getting back into the hobby. I had a 55g reef but had to sell it when I moved away for school. Bad choice but now, I'm back.
I was so pumped the day it was here that I went to pick it up at the Fedex location. It was being shipped to my job and I knew that no one was gonna be there to recieve it. So I get there and picked up the box. Take it to my work truck, opened it up, no cracks. I was really happy.
When I get home from work, I bring it down and take it out of the box. When I opened the top I heard some crackling......turns out that it was CRACKED!!!!!

Sorry for the crappy pic. My gf has my camera. I'll take better pics later.
So I called Foster and Smith and they sent me out a new one. Should be here by Wednesday and the new pump on Saturday. I hope the new one comes ok. They were really nice about it and told me just to send back the hood with all the media and the pump. So I'm gonna use this tank as my "Test" tank for all the mods that I have planned for it.

Sorry to hear that it came cracked but I am glad they are sending you another one. What kind of mods are you planning to do with your tank, I would like to see that. I have a 12g nano too, here is a picture of mines.

ARRRRRG! that sucks! It's seems like its always a 50/50 chance on whether it will be broken or not. Glad you got it from Dr F's though, they always take care of their customers, so even though you are delayed a bit, at least you are taken care of.

So I decided to take a look at the inside of the hood. I took everything apart and low and behold, it only had one fan, plus the Atinic light whats blown. Thank god the tank came broken. I hope the new tank has 2 fans, because if it doesn't, I'm taking it out of the one from the damaged tank before I send it back.

For sure....got any ideas/tips on what I should do back there since it's different than the 24g? I don't know what to put back there, like the eggcrate mod that we talked about. Looks way to small back there.

And I do want to put the chaeto,chemipure elite and purigen with a small light. The thing is how? It seems so small and different back there compared to the 24g AP.

Wednesday, and the maxi-jet 1200 pump on Saturday. What do you think I should do about the media in the back how I asked in the above post about where to put the different media's?

do you plan on using the eggcrate mod back there? i know the chambers are smaller than the 24 so im not sure how much room you would have if you used it.
If not, maybe put the chaeto and light in the first chamber, chemipure and purigen in 2nd, and pump in the 3rd? that would be my guess.

That's what I was thinking....putting the eggcrate mod with the chaeto and the light in the 1st chamber, chemipure in the 2nd, purigen in the 3rd and the pump in the 4th. Thanks for helping me with that...Hopefully by Monday/Tuesday I should have it up and running with my LR and LS. I have the weekend to do some mods that I'm planning....I think you guys will like it.
