Well me and nissan are meeting up tomorrow at strictly...So you can go there. I don't know what time though. I'll bring the eggcrate...do you want that 10w light?

Ok...so I took my water to get tested and they said that everything is fine except for my ammonia. My salinity is at 1.024. I need to get my own test kit cuz I wanna keep an eye on everything and not have to drive to the LFS.
I've been getting brown algae on my rocks and they said that I'm running my lights too long. I'm running the Actinic lights from 10am-11pm and the Daylight lights from 11am-10pm. What time frame should I be running at?
Also, Whisk...What do you have between your mag-float?

That is alot, I run my lights from 3 PM - 11 PM .. daylights only.... Does any1 run it for as long @ Miami is running it? I think its too much....
I found a light actually in my box of junk that is waterproof, its a small spotlight that will fit in the chamber gonna use that.... Yea bring the eggcrate, I will be right by there all tomorrow, between Strictly and Exotic on bird, let me know what time and Ill go there and meet up with u guys....

The cloth you see between my mag float is a square cut piece from a media bag. I was recommended by someone on here (sorry I forgot who) to do it. My LFS does it too. I guess its suppose to prevent scratching.

miami i just came back from strictly with the K1 that i bought. i stayed there for a while hoping you will showup. lol. i dont have my phone with me now. my mom has it. idk if you will like to meet up later since i gotta go back and buy my LMB and emerald crab, plus some mexican snails. my mom is coming back like before 1 or 2. so idk if thats ok if you wanna meet up by that time with kromix as well. and also right after that i gotta drop off the fish and inverts and head to West palm beach to pick up the Metal Halide. so i will be back like by 8 or 9. so about seeing your tank today man i really cant guarrantee it. since im at my sis house now helping out. if you wanna pass by to see the frags we are selling you can. she lives like 5 mins aways from exotic and like 3 mins away from strictly. Just LMK what you wanna do through here. lol. sorry if you had to read so much but i just felt like reading alot. and i bet knowing kromix he read this as well and whats to see the frags

cool. will do. but it will be soon i think that we will head to strictly. but i will only be there for a while. since i have to head to WPB with my bro in law and dad. but ill let him know

I just met up with him ... u werent there! lol... umm what are u doing now? still going to the stores or to your sis's house or u already leaving to WPB ?

Went to the LFS on sunday and I got my water checked out. MY ammonia is high, ph bad, alot of nitrates, salinity is at 1.024 and he didn't tell me anything about nitrites so I'm guessing they're good. I finally started the cycle
. I put some buffer to take care of the ph.
I lowered my lighting down to a total of 5 hours. I'm getting hairy brown algae on my rocks.
I had a problem....I caught 3 aptasia's in my tank and I've been zapping these alike a B*@^H. I keep finding little ones and putting X on it. Hopefully the outbreak is under control.
Besides that, Just waiting another week or so, depending on the wate results this sunday, to throw in the CUC. Haven't decided what time of shrimp to throw in. I'm debating between a Coral banded, Cleaner, or a Fire Shrimp. What do you guys think...

Don't leave the moon lights on for 24 hours or all night long!! I left my moon lights on all night every day on my 8 gallon biocube and they hardly glow anymore after about 9 months. Now that I upgraded to a larger tank I only turn on the moon lights when I want to look at the tank, then when I'm done looking at the tank I turn the moon lights off. That's how they will last VERY VERY VERY long and will always be bright and as good as new.

I've been doing that. I think I've had them on for a total of light 45 minutes since I got the tank. Thanks for your input
