and it's not so silly either, while the IDea of extracting dino DNA from amber encased mosquito's did not work but they have found soft tissue inside bone marrow of multiple femur bones that does indeed have DNA, and some labs are already working with genetic regression of chickens back to raptors. the first few genes have successfully been turned off / on correctly, so it's only a matter of time.

They have been talking the same about Wolly Mammoth DNA they have and elephants.
