you know, I have seen that place before, even stopped in there once and I was never impressed. I dont think that I would trust it . . . if you want to get a really nice tank, look for the great lakes aquarium company . . . sold all over the detroit area and a very high quality tank IME.
Sold at pet connection on 5 and middlebelt, fish doctors in both ann arbor and canton, as well as aquatic discoveries on 15 and ryan.

I would not suggest tropicorium for LR. ridden with aptasia and quite expensive to get anything other than base rock. If you want to get the good stuff it gets expensive, fast. Fish doctors in both canton and ann arbor have a good LR vat. Reasonably priced as well.

You simply can't beat the price of Leroys tanks. They are good aquariums. I know many people who've questioned the quality. But other than one tank that Ray at tropicorium had, I know of no one ever having a tank from him go bad.
They are great for extra tanks, qt's, etc. For a show display aquarium, I'd personally go with a oceanic, tencor, or one of the other tanks of much higher quality.

Leroy is the old guy/owner of Jans Tropical Fish on Telegraph in dearborn/taylor area.
His business is purely based on selling glass aquariums at dirt cheap prices. He carries some fresh and salt water fish just to say its a fish store more or less.

No, you're thinking of "Larry's House of Pets". Which is decent, but I avoid it. A much better reptile pet shop than sw store.
The Fish Tank is a few miles west of that on Ford rd.

yeah I remember, I tried to go there the day after and was quite surprised.
I too try and avoid the house of pets. i havent been there in a while, but the last time I was there they had a pretty nice display tank but wont sell anything from it. Kinda bummed about that cause they have an awesome alveopora. Oh well . . .
