Microbubble from a Super Skimmer

I have a CSS220 and I'm having trouble with it put out microbubbles into my sump which the return pumps are then putting into the main tank. I have tried moving the return hose to the ebd away from the pumps but I did not help. I was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems.

Try usiing a sponge filter form a Mag drive pump with a piece of PVC pipe to extend filter sponge if necessary. I operate all my CSS skimmers usjing nothing more than the foam filter sleeves form MAG drive pumps or Maxi Jets and do not have any micro bubbles, once the skimmer is broken in (3 to 5 days or so of use)

Chipmaker, I can't find the sponge filters you mention. Is there a part number I could search? I'd love to dump my difuser box as well.

I don;t have a part number for them. I would look on some online vendors webistes for Danner MAg Drive or POnd MAster Pumps (POnd masters are identical to Mag Drives....the only difference is cord lengths) Danners webiste may have them shown or listed, and I know there are foam / sponge prefilter sleeves listed on some of the major vendors online.

I found one at a LFS in their pond section. I hooked it up and it is working great. Much better look than that large box. Thanks for that great suggestion - I recommend it to anyone who has the same skimmer.
