Anyone else here have a Zune 30GB? anyone else got the meltdown right now too??
here is a link for more info, I was all upset this morning... till I came home and looked more into it and found out just how many people it is really effecting, then I relaxed cuz they are going to have to do something for everyone out of warranty too.. not good at all. I am sure Microsoft will fix it for us tho! just curious to how many people on here got hit too.

No problems with mine. you have this happen with yours or something? I never use their site, and just plug it into the computer to transfer or organize songs. So I may not have downloaded the malware or whatever that is effecting it...

really? have you tried to sync it yet today? or plug it in to charge it?
thats when they fail is when you sync them and charge them. mine was in the I-home dock and was frozen up this morning. It is only happening to the 30GB ones tho.
even people with the old 2.x.x software are frozen, so its just a bug with the HDD or something, like something wasn't right when they were made. people on the Zune site are FREAKING out and its so funny! haha with people like them, threatening to kill Microsoft people, I don't miss my Zune at all!
if you havent plugged it in today I wouldnt if you plan on using it tonight for a party or anything, if not... then plug it in and let me know how it works for you, just dont be surprised if it freezes at 99.99% lol

I'v had no problems at all with it, however no matter how much more I like the plastic cover, the larger screen and the radio, it still doesn't match up to the wheel button that ipod has.
I typically charge it on the usb port on the cable box since it stays close to the head unit for my sound system.
That is weird.

Every apple product is WAY WAY WAy WAy over rated. But at least the Ipod does have a piece of proprietary property with the wheel button.

depending on what coast you are in... here is what you need to do you need to wait for 12pm GMT, let the battery drain till the picture comes up with the battery with a '!' in it. then let it charge and when it has enough power to start itself back up (like 20 mins) it will start up and work just fine. mine is already back up and running!

no patch yet, they deemed the issue an internal clock driver, from what I have read its the last thing that loads which is why the loading bar gets to 99.99% and freezes. the clock driver I guess monitors the music you have on there form Zune Pass (even if you dont it still has to load the clock driver)
they said it would happen ever leap year, but they will have new firmware out long before then. you should see new firmware for it within a month I am guessing.

yeah when I turned mine on last night it froze, ran out of battery, so I plugged it up this morning and it works. That is amuzing, the brilliant folks at microsoft can't figure out how to account for that extra day. You'd think someone would have noticed the date being wrong on all their stuff...

haha right I know. the issue (sort of) was that the internal clock driver is a Toshiba, so MS didn't really make it? I don't know its still a big flaw but easily worked out. people just don't know how to be patient, they would rather say they hate MS and Zune and that they just went out to buy a I-pod instead of waiting 24 hours to see if it fixed itself, some really smart people in this world
