Can you guys tell me about the Mimic Lemon Peel Tang (Acanthurus pyroferus)? I don't know much about them at all. From the little I've read it says they are easy care. I'm looking for a tang for my 90g, and was wondering if this was a candidate. I've seen them as a juvi, are the beautiful as adults?

Very cool tang, cross between a lemon peel angel and a yellow tang. Here's the limited (literally) info I know about these: they get a blue outline around the body and blue around the eyes when adults (closely resembling a lemon peel angel), most likely need a bigger tank to be happy. Also called a Pacific Mimic Tang. A few member have/had them: Ryebread/120 gall., Dockery07/180 gall., and Shep/125 gall., maybe one will chime in. I did a search for an old thread and got their tank sizes off that. Do a search for lemon peel tang and narrow it to reef forumn---only about 4 threads there. HTH some and a bump for ya also.

Forgot this, the kole tang is one of the smaller tangs to consider, but I am sure there are others for a 90 gall. Dont look as flashy, but still a pretty fish.

Thanks Clarkii, I do know about the kole tang, and I have been considering getting one for a long time. As you said, they aren't the most colorful fish, and I can't say I particularly care for them. They are pretty fish, but not show stoppers. The mimic lemon peel seems to be a good alternative. It has the same body type, and is about the same size as the kole. As near as I can figure, they are very similar in everything except coloration.
