I know your thinking, "Does he mean Miracle Mudd?" Nope.
I just found this stuff and a friend at the LFS swears by it. So I took a leap and modified an Amiracle SL-5 into a skimmer/hang-on refugium. I could only add about 5 lbs to it for around 5" in depth. I put in two types of calurpa(sp?)and am hoping that all this will work instead of the wet/dry that the filter used to be.
I've had problems with trates the last couple weeks and am baffled because the tank is 5 months old with a dsb and live rock with no problems before. I started to see coralline coming up and then all of a sudden I've got brown algea everywhere and hair algae as well. I thought it was a phase but its lasted awhile and started to make me nervous. No dead critters I can find and all my corals and fish appear to be doing well.
Just thought I'd post about a new thing I'm trying and see if anyone else has any experience with this stuff.
