Well since you insist.
I will post something about my beliefs in short.
Now, I'm no saint and I don't want you to think that I am. I have my vices, I live in a very thin grey area where I'm faced with compromising situations daily.
With that said, I have always questioned the existence of soul and our genesis and after life.
Did you know that every culture both civil and uncivil talk about spirits? both good and bad. That was amusing to me when I was at your age.
I questioned why? If this many different cultures have seen, heard, felt or experienced it, it must be true even though it's scientifically unable to prove it's existence for now.
People once that world was square after all right?
What I want to say is that it all had to come from somewhere.
I have studied Buddishm, hindu, Unification theology, Catholic, Christianity, Mormonism and even little bit of druidism so on and so forth. (even went to theology school with my buddy who is a pastor now to discuss things with the professors and to widen my horizons. I generally learn things thoroughly before having a discussion or a debate.)
Everything in exception of Buddha (this is just teaching for enlightenment) everyone had a superior beings. Why is this? Was out ancestors so primitive they absolutely needed a false higher being to guide us? or is there something there? I'm not going to throw politics in church or temple in there because it's going to be long, messy and utterly useless.
From what I read, heard and studied I have came to a conclusion that soul is ever lasting and I do believe that it's from God. It had to come from somewhere and it's the most logical explanation that my brain can comprehend. Not everything in this world can be proven by laws of science at least not now but I'm thinking that it will come one by one because bible is being proven truth at least in historical aspect from archaeological point.
Now, do I agree everything with churches or temples? Hell no.
I believe many of them have their own agenda and have become a global corporations.
You should be wise and study things and listen with a grain of salt. Bible is the only thing you should heed whole heartedly. Although it's man written book it's 'inspired' by God but it's pretty damn accurate even though it's been reprinted and revised over so many years. I have read red sea scrolls and found it pretty much similar to NKJ version.
I'm questioning things daily and although it's discouraged even within the church, I don't care. I think it's natural and I think my thirst for knowledge will have an huge impact on my now so little faith. All God requires from you is that you believe him and Jesus. That's it. What do you have to lose? If it's not the truth and the way, you have lived a righteous life that was en-bettered by the teachings of God. Because religion does better your life and changes the perspectives in your life. Bible teaches you to be always optimistic, always be thankful for what you have and to appreciate everything and everyone in your life. Even a non believer can't really go against that. Also you get a community like swf where you can lean on and get encouragements whenever life throws you a curve ball.
Whatever you believe, question it first. People have done some stupid, messed up things in name of religion.
I hope my weird philosophy has made some sense.
