Minimum light for Seabae Anenome

I have a diatom(sp?) bloom going on and want to keep the lights to min. How much light doesd the anenome really need? I've had the lights on for about 9 hrs(11am to 8ishpm) but it gets a bit of light too from the window in the room(A cross from tank). Will day light then just 6hrs with the lights on be ok?

I've toned mine back to seven hours, now that my apartment gets warmer due to summer. My BTA seems to be dong fine, dunno specifically for seabaes but I think they have similar requirements. At a max I would do 8 if your having algae issues.

I would find the cause instead of a temporary cure. cilicates are usually the main cause of a diatom bloom. Have you changed your DI cartridge lately.
Shutting down the lights will only be a temp cure. When you get your light s back on the normal schedule, the diatoms will likely return unless you find the cause.
to answer your question, besides the type of lighting, we would also need to know depth of tank, because I am guessing that the "sebea" is actually an H.crispa and most likely at the sand bed/rock interface?
If your using halides (250s-400s), 6 hrs should be enough light.

I believe the diatom is from the new sand(I switched out the gravel that was in the tank. I moved into this house with the 170g here but it needed LOTS of work) The lights are Life-glo T5 HO Premium Full Spectrum and Marine-glo T5 HO Actnic Blue Marine There's two large ones that are blue and white but they just died :( Here's a pic

Here's some pics of the anenome The colour alway looks funny in pics though
Before it moved

Now with lights off, where it moved too

Lights on. Hard to see the full size as its turnned a little sideways. Like I said in the other post it looks like it might split, Ive had it about a month now

And the whole tank. I don't have m,easurements, should get them. It's 170 gallons long but not to tall.
