Minimum order?

Is there a minimum on an order? Do I have to spend a certain amount? From this site that is.

Well if you are talking about buying live goods then yes you have to spend 79.00 and then there is a 10$ handling charge, and a gas charge usually comes out to about 100$....

That sucks for me. This site seems to have the best fish but I'm not buying all 4 of my fish at the same time. Guess I'll have to go elsewhere. Or I can drive over to view their state of the art shop for public viewing (coming soon) and maybe they'll let me pick them up.
What's the deal with the 79 min on live goods? Frustrating.

ehh, a fish, some copepods, some snails, crabs, a coral, some shells, and you can get up to 79 easy.

plus, you got so many people in florida on these boards i bet you could find someone to split an order if you really wanted to.

It costs a lot of money to ship live animals. It would not pay if someone just ordered 10 snails, or a $1.99 yellow tang.
When I order from here, I usually try to get some snails, crabs, and things for my clean-up crew, in addition to the fish that I want. That way, it comes out to the $79 you need it to come to, and you are still only adding one fish to the bioload.
If you cannot do that, just find someone in the area and split an order with them. Go to your local reef club and organize a group purchase from here. Many people in my area do that with sites that have a huge minimum purchase.

That's how they get you
My problem is I want to go SLOWWWW. When my tank is in cycle I want to order my clean up crew and first fish. Cleanup crew in at the end of cycle while first fish in in QT. 4 weeks later introduce fish to DT and a few days before order next fish for QT. I'd like to continue to do this until all 4 fish are in DT and then start thinking corals. I dunno, maybe get a coral or two with last fish.
Good idea about splitting the order though. There are a few people in my area that when the time comes I'll ask around.

Hey that is a great idea. You don't have to order one of those prebuilt cleaner packages , just order the 1 fish you want and then enought crabs/snails/shrimp to get you over the $79 mark. You can still add your fish slowly but you will also be adding your clean up crew slowly too. Then after you get enough cleanup crew you might be able to order a coral with your fish if your parameters will support it of course. Thanks lion_crazz.

I thought the 79.00 minimum order was just for free shipping. Surely you could order less but just pay the extra for shipping, yes?

I just realized, not only $79.00 minimum order but also another $10.00 for a processing fee--Come on, processing fee?

don't forget the fuel surcharge.
but seriously:
1) not many other sites will ship full freight for this inexpensive
2) all the other sites charge a processing (basically the box and packaging materials) and fuel surcharge.
