what would be a minimum size tank for
1 domino damsel
1 yellowtail damsel
1 ocellaris clown
1 coral beauty
1 mandarin dragonette (please dont tell me that it needs special food because i already know that...also no talking about live rock and dont tell me that i need a bigger aquarium as i have one in my 29 for about 2 years now and its doing great)
would 15-20 gallon work?
Thanks

does the one in your 29 have a refugium? does it eat prepared foods? i dont know if you wold be able to cram in enough live rock...... DEFINATLY NOT A 15-20!!!! i would say a 40-55 with a large refugium for pods for the mandarin. that is what iwould do. domino damsels get rather large. and if you know the requirements of the mandarin, them im sure you konw the agressiveness of a damsel.

For that fish selection, you will need at least a 29 gallon, but ideally, it should be closer to 38 or 46 gallons. I know that is not what you want to hear, but there is no avoiding the truth. If you want to be a responsible fish keeper, you should not be cramming five fish into a 15 or 20 gallon, especially fish like a mandarin and angel.

i would say dont do the damsel... they get aggressive and bully almost every fish... and getting rid of the damsels allows you to get more fish... what bout 2 false percs watching a pair of clowns is pretty cool

It's very possible. Fill it with 25-30 lbs. of live rock and I think you will be good to go. I would make the fish selection:
-clowns (1st month or 2)
-toby (3rd month)
-mandarin (4th or 5th month if you have the pods like you said)
-angel (at least 6 to 8 months after tank has been established)

I saw a Mandarin in a lfs today that was about 4-5 inches long... no way that species should be kept in a small tank.

well if i use the 30 can i add other fish other than
1-2 clowns
1 toby
1 mandarin
1 coral beauty
its also because if i get the bigger tank i wont have so much room left in my little room

i would definatly not add another fish.......... however, your fish will have a better environment to live in. i think you already may be pushing it in a 30 IMO. And i am still skepticle and worried about the mandarin exen with your past experiences. you are going to have a cram a heck of a lot of live rock in there.

why cram fish and lr in a small tank? Get a bigger one. If you don't have the room, don't get the tank.

i would have to agree with the above to be honest...... i think you are pushing it as it is without wanting to put more fish as far as room and bioload go. plus i still dont think a mandarin is a good idea.
