Well what type lionfish do you have?
Voltian lions- 125
Raditata, Antennatta, and dwarf- best in 75 min 55

im pretty sure its a volenta, but i could be wrong, also, will feeding it ghost shrimp as a staple affect its heath?

It's best to stay away from live freshwater food as the staple for any marine fish, which doesn't mean you can't feed them as a treat. I peronally use Mysis shrimp, which he just loves. Mysis are also great food for them.

you can start them out on feeder fish but you want to ween them to frozen foods for a more nutricous diet constant live feeders can lead to agression and health problems in the future

Also, Lionfish are predators, they need to think that they are hunting their food down, one thing they look for it the eye. I have my lion eating mysis, but won't touch smelt or formula 1 at all. This is the process I went through to 'ween' my lion. I bought 20 ghost shrimp for a buck, and I put most of them in, and the lion ate almost all of them. Then a week later, I bought some mysis shrimp, defrosted them, and he wolfed them down. For me it wasn't hard at all.
