missing lobster!!

we purchased a purple lobster 3 days ago, and the first day it sat in the corner of the tank all day. The next morning, it was nowhere to be found. We looked under all the rocks, and dug up all of the crushed coral on the bottom of the tank, and still have not been able to find him or any remains. Is it possible that he climbed out of the tank? We don’t know where else to look for it.
We also have a porcupine puffer fish that is about 4". He did not bother the lobster all day while it was visible. I don’t think it is possible that he ate the entire lobster whole because the lobster was about 3", and the puffer did not seem any fatter in the morning like he usually is after a large meal, but we don’t know where else the lobster could be. Any suggestions?

well. My guess would be either in a rock crevice, or in the puffers belly. I think some puffers eat inverts. Not sure on that one though.

i had one too but when i came home from work one day he was gone i found pieces of him all over the tank. I know my puffer and trigger and maybe my lion had a nice meal while it lasted

yeah..i would be ok with it..kinda...if i found some pieces of it or something..it just bugs me that i cant find him anywhere

I'll bet he's just hiding in the rocks. Mine hides all the time. If I do see him, it's only at night under the actinics (they are nocturnal)...or sometimes when I'm feeding meaty foods.
It took me more than a couple of months to get a good picture of him, because he's always hiding.
Have a little faith. I can go a week or two without seeing my lobster. He'll probably turn up soon.

I see mine about once every other week... and it's for a brief second or two. They arn't very social.
I wouldn't of put one in with a puffer though cause he will go after him in a heart beat.

we found our lobster! two months after he went missing i found him while cleaning out the tank. he was dug into a hole in on of the rocks..i only saw a pair of claws come out but that was enough!
