Missing six-line wrasse!!!

From what I've been reading, this may not be abnormal. I introduced a six-line wrasse into a five month old reef tank. He's been missing ever since! When I was acclimating him, he played dead, but I would check and he was very active. In fact when I was placing him in the tank, he was jumping in the net! I saw him go into the LR and now I have not seen him since. I'm bummed. I keep looking in back of the LR to see if I see a body, but I don't. IS this unusual? I do have a orange-tail damsel that thinks it owns the entire tank (55 g) that seemed somewhat curious of the little fella. What do you all think?

how long have you not seen him for he could be in the rock or under the sand they do that at night some times.

Okay. Thanks. My LR has lots of holes and tunnels and such too. Isn't he gonna get hungry, or is he eating and I'm not seeing it? I've never had a fish do this to me before. It's crazy!

If your tank is mature (+6 months) and you used some live rock to start your cycle they do eat copepods that grow on the rock.

he may be hiding in the rocks, and eating various worms off the rock, it is not uncommon for wrasses to disappear for a while. Have you checked behind and around the tank? they are quite good jumpers, and are known to jump out of the tank.

No worries....I added a second sixline and after my first one chased him, he disappered for a couple of days. Then re-emerged, slowly, and after a few days more he joined the group.

I just added a 6 line and it played dead also. Its been in the tank for approx 8 hrs and I see him occasionally but he will not eat yet. Keep me posted on what happens and I will do the same with mine.

Just my 2 cents,
I had (still have) a sixline that disappeared for 8, count 'em 8 days! I couldn't find him starting the night after I put him in the tank. I swear I thought he jumped or something. One day, I get home from work, and there he is! He hasn't done his Houdini act since. Just wanted to tell you not to give up hope like I did!

I went out of town for a week and came back and i swore he died cause my tank is small but the next day he came out from his hiding

Alas! His poor body came out from the rocks. He didn't survive!
I hate when that happens. I just had this gut feeling about him...
