I added what I thought would be my last fish in my 30g a super cool yellow watchman gobie and this morning I can't find him. I only have one area where it could have jumped but I thought that the water coming from the filter would have prevented him from jumping out there. I've looked everywhere and don't see any pieces so I don't think he died:( Has anyone had their cats eat a carpet surfer?

I've had a "mandarin" mysteriously jump and land quite a distance away from the tank. I imagine its possible.
Have you looked under all your liverock? They usually make a home in a small cave under the rock in the sand, unless you have a pistol shrimp.

Any luck with finding the little guy? Mine usually really shy, hides whenever someone moves quick or walks upto the tank at first.

Yes, I found him in my power head:( :( :(
Since I only have a 30g and already have two clowns he was suppose to be my last fish and I really liked him. I'm pissed that I made such a stupid mistake. And I feel like an idiot for smelling my cats breath.

Sorry to hear, I've had that happen a few times :(
Try placing a bio-ball under the suction of the powerhead. The suction will hold it in place, depending on the type of powerhead, and block any fish from being sucked in. Its ended my small fish vs. power head problem. Hope you can pick up another one, thats my favorite fish in my tank.
