mixing shrimp

I am considering an order from swf. as you know i have to purchase 79.$ worth of live goods from them. i also have a credit of 62$ which doesn't count towards my 79.$ I have no LFS near me. The Pet Super Store in my town all the tanks with fish are "under Observation" So i have a few questions. #1 can i mix shrimp ie: peppermint shrimp with coral banded.
Are yellow gergonians? difficult to care for? #3 Will feather dusters work in my 36g. How about a sponge?Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

If you mix shrimp together, they need their space away from each other. So im not if a 36 gallon would be big enough for this.
For the yellow gorgonian and feather duster you should spot feed them cylcops since they eat very small things that float past their feathers.
One thing if you get the gorgonian you must NOT let it in the air when putting it into the tank, this will kill it. so while u take it out of the bag and into your tank make sure you have all of it underwater.
I am not sure on the sponge, i dont know if they filter feed too or if they feed off the light. I am guessing they filter feed as well since i have heard they dont need much light.

Mixing a coral banded with other shrimp usually doesn't work out well as they're a bit on the aggressive side. A cleaner/peppermint combo might work.
Gorgonians, feather dusters, and sponges are filter feeders that will benefit from cyclopeeze. Sponges should not be exposed to air as well.
If all of the tanks at your store are "under observation" it's probably not worth shopping at.

just wanted to say if you get gorgonias, feather dusters, and sponges that they are fed more easily if you buy kent marine product called micro-vert. cyclopeeze is a pain compared with the micro vert. microvert alls you have to do is put a drop per gallon every other day and the bottle lasts for a while.

I would recommend against a CBS no matter what if you want feather dusters or other cool inverts. Mine killed 2 feather dusters, 1 hermit, and goes after other inhabitants of the tank quite a bit; I'm hoping it doesn't kill my other shrimp before it can come out (was in there 6 months). It's going in the sump of my new tank once that's all setup. They're little terrorists, imo. If anyone says that they're not, they just haven't been in the tank long enough.

if you get the sponge, make sure in no shape or form does it touch air.
I want to touch on the mixing shrimp thing... i have a sexy shrimp and a really large BTA. to prevent an anenome shrimp from going to the LFS, i took it off of someones hands. It went into the BTA and now the sexy seems to have lost its home. I had hoped they would co-exist in there, but it seems not.
so, be careful on how you mix your shrimp as stated above.

Why don't you get a diffrent shrimp instead of a CB. Get some other kind. I have a cleaner, blood, and camel shrimp who all share a pile of live rock.
