Mixing water and salt

I have a MT 55gl tank IM going to change to saltwater can I just mix the salt mix in the tank then in a few days add the sand and the rock If I use 5gal pails it could take me a couple weeks to fill it

nope. you need completely new water.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't mix in the tank. That's what most everyone does on a new tank setup. Like richie said though, make sure it is new water.

Question...how & why does MT= nothing in it? Just curious.....
If the tank is new and there is nothing in it that you want to protect then mixing the salt/water in the tank is fine.

this tank is empty it was a fresh water tank at one time
