That catalina is a cold water fish. He is going to get bigger.
They prefer a minimum of 10 gallons. Im pretty sure he isnt too happy in there.

While I don't agree with a fish in a half gallon tank, I love the analogy.

I love the tank and the idea I have to agree with clarkiiclo .
that goby is a cold water fish with a temp 68-75 and I don't think I would put a fish in any tank smaller than a 5g for any amount of time. :D

Thank you for all of your kind concerns. I know Catalinas like cooler water, I also know that they will tolerate tropical temps. And that they should be housed in an aquarium of ten gallons or larger. I too have been to the Dr. site.
This Catilina is VERY small not even 3/4 of an inch, and is still marked as a juvenile. It is very happy in the 1/2 gal, he is always on the rocks, under them, and sometimes even free swimming. he eats well, and moves sand throughout the entire day. The temperature in my house is always 72-74 so this tank is just at the right temp if you ask me. even with the light on all day it will never reach more than 76.
I will continue to monitor him and if he seems unhappy, I will move him to my display. but for now he would not stand a chance in there, so he is staying right where he is.

Yea thats what I was thinking about the temp. A tank that small would stay pretty much at room temp.
Ckarkiiclo you like those zoos huh well I might be able to get a small frag email me at: avbryce1@yahoo.com and we might be able to work somthing out.
