All my friends though I was weird because I flew to Atlanta for the weekend for the sole purpose of visiting the GA.

My friends dont really make fun of my hobby. A couple of them just ask "why?" when I tell them I have a 6 foot long aquarium. But most of them actually think its really cool.

Check their website, I don't remember the exact price.
I was impressed with the exhibits and the building itself (I'm an architecture nerd). The reef was amazing now, but I can't imagine what it'll be like 10 years from now when all the live coral really starts to fill in. They get a lot of crap about not knowing what they're doing (2 dead belugas and 2 dead whale sharks) and I wonder sometimes, but the "head honcho" used to be head of the Waikiki Aquarium, so
. Definately worth it though, but I don't know what staying in Atlanta would be like now with the drought and all.

I guess that is why I spend so much time here, at least people here understand. But do you get mocked for your hobby and that you spend time on the internet talking to strangers about fish?
they all used to make fun until they see how neat the finished product looks like. and then what it looks like after it has grown for a while. sooner or later most quit poking fun.

Some people think im crazy spending so much money on a tank that is just saltwater like the ocean and fish that swim for a while and die. Then they see my tanks and the ask so many questions. My FW tank some people are speechless, SW tank is new so it doesnt have the "woa factor" YET

I was reading about Waikiki Aquarium and they made this cool DIY wavemaker in an outdoor sps tank. I'm going to have to build that sometime. If I remember right, I've been told it is about 50 bucks to do both.

Yeah, it is amazing the random places info about the tank pops up in every day life, Something will come up, and I will spurt out some fact, and they will say how do you know the color of light is measured by the tempurature of carbon in kelvin or some other random fact.

i dont really get made fun of but whe i have something happen that i just have to tell someone they look at me like wut the.......and then iam like oh yeah they have no clue!! which suck cause i have no i mean no people that i personaly know in my area that own a SW tank. but when my friends start talkin FW 30g tanks i look like the man with a 4ft 55g. in my circle a 4ft 55g is unheard of. not to mention my momz popz and sis love to see the whole thing come together. and compete to see who can add the coolest fish (that god i have you guys!!) although my mom has now found out my secrets, does research and think its her tank and i also have you guys to thank for that!!
