Mocked by friends?!?

Not really for my tanks. Lots of my friends think the tank is cool. They do make fun of the money some things cost though. But growing up in Florida, usually parents have had a tank or you know a friend's parents or someone with a tank.
I do get made fun of for visiting some of the car forums as much as I do. Just usually toss back a smart*** reply about them having MySpace or Facebook accounts. (I've never had either, don't see the need too)

Oldsmobile Aurora. It was my first car and loved it to death for almost 5 years of ownership. Wrecked it in March
and now I have a Cadillac STS. I still frequent the Aurora boards though, met a lot of great people there. I'm also on corvetteforums, Cadillacforums (obviosuly), m5boards and dreaming maybe one day on the Mercedes forums (to spite the image rappers and NBA stars have given the CLS, it's still one of the most beautiful cars on the road).

Aurora forum? Seriously? Like having a skylark forum, or a Metro forum.

Drive one. Seriously. Sit and stare at one. Rivals most cars built in 95-99 for looks, performance, ********, quality of materials, and gasp, actual racing pedigrees. Name attached to the car doesn't always mean everything.

EDIT: starting to wonder, do you even know what an Aurora is?

Is it stiff, or does it float like most buicks and caddys. There was a buick that had a supercharger what was it, Le Sabre I think man I don't remember, that was fun to drive, my grandpa's lincoln has a 4.6L with dual exhausts, and it does squat when you hit the gas, it was pretty fun to drive for a 2 ton car.

While not a sports car, it's definitely not a floater like a Deville or LeSabre. With my 18"s, think 545i in terms of ride balance.

lol, that might be a bit of a stretch, I really miss my 91 si hatch, I'd dropped it 1.8 inches, it has about -.4 camber on the front and rear wheels, with Z rated tires, you could not make that car slip, it was that sticky, It was stickier than the Z06 I rode in at the vette club. But I have a 06 si coupe, and that is a bit easier to drive, and has 6 gears, so I'm happy. I'm going to have to drop it when the warrentee goes out.

Lol, was the ZO6 going twice the speed around the turn?
Was the 91 your first car? The Aurora was mine, which probably is why I'm so attached.

No actually, the hatch is well was faster. It doesn't take near as much to get a 1800 pound car going. It was an 11 second car w/out the bottle, a Z06 is a mid 12 stock if I remember right. I never took the hatch to corvette club, figured I'd be stoned when I beat them.
No my first car was an 82 f100, it was my grandpa's. I'm attached to that car, the second was a wrangler yj, I'm attached to that car, my third car was the si, I'm attached to that car. And well my current is an 06 si, I like this car, but it is just a car, and my first with AC! Of the 3 the jeep was the favorite, I'll always own a jeep. i'm saving for a CJ. But they are just too expensive to drive every day, especially in a sprawled out town like houston.

Dude, you're a fish geek like all of us. I felt weird going to MACNA and frag swaps.
Who cares.
It's what you are into.
Some people like watching soap operas, who cares.
You need to do what makes you feel best. If your friends make fun of you, just brush it off. I don't know how old you are, but I'm 42 and I know what peer pressure is all about, I was younger once. Do what you need do to make you happy and don't let your friends get you down, that's not what friends are for. Friends are to be there to cheer you up and to get you through hard times.
Keep up the SW, I was going to say reefing, but it didn't sound correct.

At least you have found something in life that intrests you. I have a bunch of hobby's. I have always been an animal lover, I just tend to like the ones that most people do not. At 3 different times in my life I have had collections of over 50 snakes, thats not when the eggs started hatching. And 30 Tarantulas. I would breed the snakes and sell the neonates.
I also love to oil paint and draw, ah lets see ohyea then theres the guitar. When I was younger we had fish, first fw then in the early 80's my mom and I got into sw. I got out of it when I joined the usmc. But I whent to a locale sw store to buy my turtle a bigger aquarium and saw the 55 gal total package, and they had layaway so another hobby reborn. And things sure have changed in sw since the early 80's. No more damsel fish guinie pigs and cc as a substrate, and what did you say 1 bag of live sand a piece of lr to cycle my tank in 1 week? I thought he was crazy , but 1 week later my tank cycled, and I love it.
Then theres the whole motorcycle thing but I dont look at it as a hobby its a life thing.
But this sw thing is addictive just like my tat's. I have already convinced my self that NEED another tank in case 2 fish do not get along. I mean why take 1 back to the store right! when I could just have another tank. makes perfect sense to this addict

I don't really, I was just wondering if other peoples friends were as mean as mine. I'm pretty much addicted, and like crack adddicts I dont' care what you think.

Ya I get mocked by my friends. They say I "waste" too much money on something pointless, but I'm the only one who has a real job!

lol if you want to talk about wasting money, I was looking for a shirt because I needed one for some engagement pictures, and the one I saw that I really liked, (before I looked at the price tag) was 155 dollars, for a button up shirt.
I didn't get it.

If you think you have been mocked, try telling your friends and family that you intend to be a brittlestar scientist, then spend years and years getting a degree to be one.

LOL Well I haven't quite decided, but I think I want to do something in marine biology, so I haven't told my friends that though in fear that I will be mocked even more!
