bingo, thats what is neccessary. a surface skimmer is when the ery top of the water has direct flow to the overflow. cant get that with the cartridge in, and that acrylic wont change anything.

For the first chamber I am thinking of putting the heater purigenm, and carbon.For the 2nd chamber I will drill some more holes into that drip thing and put a piece of floss on it. I am thinking of getting some rock rubble and mabye some cheato with that underwater light.For the third I will have my pump but it will be raised all the wat to the top practicly to reudce head loss.
