The current plan is only for 30 gallons, moderate light (8-10WPG, VHO), rubbermaid sump/refugium, DIY light hood, DIY stand, DIY protien skimmer, 3/4 of the rock artificial instead of all live. And the parts list doesn't include any organisims beoynd a cleaner crew. The $1000 will just barely get me past tank cycling.
I've got the current parts list down to the number of PVC elbows and flexible hose clams I'll need. The current total is 848.99 (some items still approximations), and the live rock/sand/cleaner crew will be another $300 or so.
With the understocked live rock/sand and only a bit of "gulf coral rock" for starter showpieces, I'm going to have to have patience to equal what I didn't spend in cash. When I see that I can make the plankton and live rock organisims thrive for awhile, then I'll invest in showier pieces.
Is there still a major flaw in my plan now that I am more specific?

Not trying to be mean but, I am a very busy mother and don't have tons of time in the evening "being board" playing with my computer like you seem to be. I am on here trying to expand my knowledge about the hobby to have the best enviroment for my animals to thrive in. Not the coolest looking tank to brag about. I spent alot of time opening your "numerouse" threads which takes time because I am dial-up and was disapouinted with a bunch of the same advise and same ol same ol you don't seem to ever listen to. Sure you may have listened to ONE thing but what about the 100 other things??? You need to do more reading and alot less typing.
Again I know your age and I am not trying to be mean just honest, but you are on here with adults not a bunch of kids that just talk crap to here themselves talk, go to a "chat" room for that and save the board for what it was meant for. The only time I ever post a thread is to learn something and actually take peoples advise.
I am sad to say that after following numerouse threads of yours I now feel like I have to reasherch the person before I can trust their advise, namely their age which is an injustice for those teenagers who actually know something about what they are talking about. I would feel awful if I gave someone bad advise just because I wanted to make a post maby to just get my posting numbers up. I actually looked at how many posts someone had as a relation to how much knowledge/research they had and thanks to you I now know that has no relation what so ever!
I commend the moderaters for pulling you. Come back when you mature a little and by the way nobody like a exagerator or bragart. If you ever get caught exagerating the truth no one will take you seriously again. Your reputaition will be permantly flawed so its best to just let people like you for who you are or what you do have on this board and in life.
P.S. So what about your "secret stocking list", that is childish and I am sure can always be one-upped on here!
sorry so harsh and long but I am tired of people like you wasting my time. Lots of love though!:D :D :D

...and this my young friend is why your posts keep getting closed. We...for the most part... are serious minded hobbyists...and for the most part we don't mind offering assistance/advice. But your threads quickly become tiresome and extremely repetative. Each issue addressed here has already been addressed...several times. In addition members seem to be getting tired of your repetative questions...as seen above.
In addition members need to refrain from turning threads into personal attacks and flames. If you have nothing positive to contribute then move on. I'm closing this thread...for the reasons mentioned. ya'all have a good day.
