Monster Angel????

Question for anybody that can answer.......
I have a banded shark and and a bicolor angel...the only other fish is a purple chromis.....and as I watched last night with the lights out... the bi-color started trying to pick the eyes out the shark, the shark tries to wedge itself in the live rock....what would cause this ???...I have tried moving the LR and the angel is still going after the shark......100gl tank with about 150 pounds of rock.......all levels are optimal....I have ended up putting a glass wedge in the middle of the tank to keep the two away from each other.....Help please?????????

This is a normal activity that takes place with many angels. Almost all in fact will peck the eyes of sharks. Mostly banded sharks this has been observed with since that is the most widely owned shark in the trade. Your only option is to move the shark or get rid of one or the other. Until then the activity won't stop.

Thanks for the quick reply risc.....i have put the glass divider in to seperate the two and the angel is still trying to get to the shark...I guess i will have to get rid of the angel.........what would be other fish that i could keep with the shark?...I tried angels so what else.....?>.........thank you,

Maybe a small eel, like a snowflake, chainlink, or zebra. No triggers or filefish.

I have tried a chainlink eel and he moved rock too much as i have a couple of corals. I tried the bi-color as i was told that they do not eat coral poylps...but can't have him eating my sharks eyes!......well i guess I'll try some clowns and any other fish that you can recommend. Please tell me if any other fish that don't sharks...I already tried the triggers and found them to be to aggresive towards the shark...Thank you,

I think a nice addition would be an antenata, radiata, or dwarf lionfish. All the other lions get to big for a 100.

O ya, make sure if you do get clownfish, make sure there big enough to not get eaten. That happened to me before a long time ago.

you do realize that the shark will outgrow that tank don't you??
