Month 7 Photo's

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to share some more pictures with all of you, my tank has been running for 7 months now and is looking better every day. I have a stock Biocube 29, the only thing I have upgraded is a Koralia Nano powerhead and the Oceanic Nano Skimmer. There has been a new bloom of corraline algae lately and the tank is getting better every day now. Let me know what you think, Thanks everyone.

Looks nice right now but I am going to predict that you will be losing some things in the future with only the stock lighting.

I hear that on here very often, not to say that some of my corals dont need good lighting, but I also work part-time at my LFS, the clam in my tank was brought in by a customer that had tried to have it in his 55 gallon with the old cheap hood lighting that came with those tanks, it was completely bleach out and I thought for sure it was going to die, I brought it home and place it at the very top of my rocks in my tank, and 5 months later take a look at the color it has now. The clam is doing great and looks like one that you would buy at your LFS. I agree that the stock biocube lighting would not be good enough for SPS and others. But for the clam, being at the top of my rock, it is not more than 4 inches from the lights and gets plenty of light to do great.

Does look nice. How is the skimmer doing?
The skimmer works great, I just changed the airstone the other day and put a little larger coralife airstone in it and seems to be working better now than it did with the airstone that came with it. I had to adjust the air down some to keep it from overflowing but it is skimming great now.

Hey all,
Can you see my yellow watchman goby hiding under the plate coral, look at the right hand side of the plate coral, you can see his head peaking out. He is so cool, he loves to hang out under there, and then when he see's somebody coming he comes all the way out to see if you are going to feed him. He might just be my favorite fish.

Wow I am impressed with the clam for sure under the stock lights. How about down on the lower left is there an anemone or two there? They are what I was really looking at. The look very white whatever they are.

On the lower left side is a torch coral, and a flower pot coral, they both are doing great also. I think the reason they look white is when I took these pics the light was coming in the window behind me. They both have good color. I will take a couple more pics when the sun isnt behind me and post later. Thanks for the comments though.

yes it is a sailfin tang, he is nice and fat and has almost doubled in size since he has been in the tank, it is almost time to move him to my bigger tank, I am waiting for him to get a little bigger so he will be bigger than some of my other more aggressive fish.

No reason for people to flame you about the tang, sounds like you know what you are doing to me, nice job imho
