This is 3rd Montipora I have had. 1st one I bought was dead when I PURCHASED IT. The next one dies also, Right when I acclimated it I rubberbanded it to a rock. I think that is what killed it.
This time I purchased a $10.00 frag from a tank raised colony. To learn how to grow it. I have it right on the top rock, in a good flow area, under excellent lighting. It has been in there 2 weeks. It has actually grown a little onto the rock, but now it seems to be losing its color alittle. It is fading into a bleachy white color. I can still see polyps though.
I was told the tell tale sign of it dieing, is when alge starts growing on it. I saw a small pc of alge on it today.
I am at a loss. DOES ANYONE KNOW ANY GOOD BOOKS ON MONTIPORA OR HAVE ANY SUGJESTIONS
