Moonlights issue

I just recieved my CSL 48" PC/Moonlight fixture last night. I put it together and the moonlights do not work. I am thinking that the transistor plug is shot because it is completey cold. I took the relector off and the transistor line is contected via wire nuts. I have not tested for currently through the line to the lights but will today. If it is the transistor does anyone see a problem buying one at Radio shack and swapping them out? I could send this light back but then I have to pay postage and wait another week to get another if the have one left. I would just like to fix it and be done with it. Any suggestions will help
Thanks

I had the same luck you had with your lights. I ended up calling the company and complaining. They sent a Fedex pickup slip free though. I am still waiting on replacement. No more CSL"S available and only 60 day warranty since mfg went bankrupt. I ended up ordering a diffrent light without moonlights. It does have a two year warranty and was a dollar different in price.I decided to try DIY instructions for add on moonlights. I'm sure it would be an easy fix but not sure enough to tear mine apart and void return. Good luck sorry not to help. :nope:

TimG... if you go to walmart or target in the electonics section they have adjustable AC-DC transformer boxes with a range of output voltages that you can select via a swtich. As long as you hook it up the right way, and have the correct output voltage, it should work fine. I say stay away from Radio Shack because they are very expensive at times, and everyone else is cheaper. :-D
I hope this helps, but from an electrical standpoit it is very OK to do what you want to!
