I built mine from an old cell phone charger I had. 5V 750 mA.
At Radio Shack I bought 5 small project boxes (about 1x2 inches). 8 5V blue leds, wire, and some printed circuit board. Since the power supply was 5v I did not need resistors. I wire the whole thing in parallel + to + -to - and drilled the project boxes for 2 leds each. I used velcro to attach to my canopy. Silicon sealant was used to fill each box to make it as watertight as possible.
