Moonlights

I have an 80 gal tank with 2 blues and 2 whites that are on a timer, both on for 9 hrs a day. The small moon lights are on 24hrs, plugged directly into the wall (no timer)
Should I leave the moonlights on 24hrs?
Is there an advantage/disadvantage to having the moonlights on at night when the other lights are off?
Does it matter if my fish have total darkness vs the moonlights?

I do the following with my PC lights.
Moonlights on 24hrs
Blues come on at 8am
10,000k come on at 9am
10,000k go off at 10pm
Blues go off at 11pm
I have read that the "critters" in the tank actually will thrive on the moonlight and that it is better for them than total darkness. I really don't know for sure, but it's really cool to see at night!!!!!!

yes definitely. I have noticed that in total darkness, some fish get stressed out.

Fish tend to loose their color in complete darkness. This is totally natural and there is nothing to worry about. The moonlights do nothing for the tank but make it look cool. Think about the ocean...it rains just about every day in the caribbean waters (where most of the fish we keep live in the wild) and it gets pitch black during a cloudy night so it would be ok to go without moonlights.
