you can, but why? Just going to shorten the life of the lights. With LEDs, may not be by much, but why risk it?

Just put together DIY 10 led aquarium moon light kit have no light timer for it. Here are some pics

It takes a LONG time for LED's to burn out. I also leave mine on 24/7.

I read on my leds that I put above my tank that they are supposed to be able to be left on for 10 years straight before they burn out. Also they use very little power so I would say it wouldn't really matter.
Having said that I do have mine on a timer and there is a period of about two hours in the early morning that there is zero lighting in the tank.

Newone where did you get info on the DIY leds?I would like to put some together.

I have a DIY moonlight kit also and have on a timer . Had the leds 3 years and few are out now . Time for some new ones . I found my kit on ---- from The Lebos . Basically an email with downloads for the kits . You can get everything at radio shack but he sells everything a lot cheaper .
