Tell her to buy a juvenile...better chance at surviving. Estimates are that over 95% of these anmals die in the home aquarium within the first year. Their survival rate is horrible in the home aquarium.
I suggest you test your lawyer skills with arguing against such a purchase based on research and fact. Have a few freinds over as a jury to render a binding decision.
In the future, you may wish to have an understanding that nothing goes in the system unless both agree.
I'll refrain from comment regarding dumping.............:D

I hope things work out with the copperband! If nothing else, at least you're keeping your girl happy. Always a good thing to do.

I have a Copperband and a Coral Beauty in my 90 gallon softies tank and neither one ever touches the corals. And the both eat the frozen brine and/or mysid daily. The CB also eats pellet and flake, the CBB just goes for the meaty foods..
I wish they would eat GSP as I do with clearing out some of those "weeds" !!

Am I being cold hearted to say "ditch her?" LOL But I would be really wary of much more of a relatiomship with someone who doesn't care if something is likely to die - both because of the animal, and because of the wasted money. Definitely JMO though :D I just wouldn't compromise your principles for a girl (or guy).

Bergamer, if your gonna be a lawer, your gonna have to become a better liar, I would say, but the fact that your gal friend is a lawer, man your really in a spot!
You may wanna negotiate for the type of a system that would be able to keep some of the fish alive that she wants like 200 gal system, and use your 90 gal for a fuge

ha ha, very funny.

you just angry bc it is only newbies that who have no idea what they are doing can keep a flower pot alive over a year.
it was the second coral that I bought- (CLEARS THROAT, OVER A YEAR AGO)
-but I was truley glad the LFS told me about their success rate:mad:
- if they did, I would not have bought it as there is no point to buying something that is just going to die
- if the ever does croak, I would not buy one again- I think I just ended up getting a hardy one- maybe it was a good shipper

by the way, I live with my g/f
we bought a house together and have been dating for 7 years
we plan on getting married in 2 years
as I finish law school in 2 weeks
then I have to save
and I would like to add for the record
- she bought me the 90 gallon acrylic tank
- she bought me the 90lbs of live sand
- she has boughten numerous corals
- she is planning to buy more corals
- she bought me my skimmer
- she bought me power heads
-heater
- fish food
- a small cube refig, to store frozen food in my office
I would say that she is over 50% fish friendly

Only thing i have to say is that she is a women, you cant tell her what to do(well i could anyway, i have my way with them). Another thing, if she is buying you all that stuff dont complain about her buying that fish, just warn her about it and if he is still to stubborn(which she will still be because she is a women) let her do it, and just say i told you so when it dies.
