Moorish Idol

Does anyone have experience with Moorish Idol ? I heard they are difficult to keep? What about transporting them? I am in the the process of getting a new community & was considering 3 Purple Firefish , Psychedelic Manadrin , Flame Angel & a Hippo Tang . In what order should I obtain this community & with a total of 75+ LBS of LR in my main tank (w/o LS), will I be able to support the Psychedelic Manadrin ? Will it be impossible to add a Flame Hawkfish in that mix too?

All I know is they are great but hard to keep. Even the very best have a hard time keeping them for longer than a few months. I think It has something to do about not being able to duplicate there food in the wild. My LFS has kept one for almost two years. The owner and store is great.
If anyone could keep one alive,he could.Take care.

55gal is way to small it will die in there and fast

You need at least a 100gal tank and probably no to the hawkfish...they tend to be aggressive, and moorish idols need to be with peaceful tankmates

Unless you are a very experienced, expert aquarist, I would highly recommend not attempting moorish idols, as they are so extremely delicate. Admire them on the reef where they will live and thrive.
