I acquired it from Gary Majchrzak, a fellow member of the Upstate Reef Society here in Western NY. After about 6 months of trying to identify this "Mushroom" Gary was finally able to obtain a positive id. It a Carpet Anemone that grows to about the size of a Silver Dollar. As far as I know Gary is the first hobbiest to have one of these beautiful creatures.
It has split a few times in the time I've had it. I'm thinking about adding one to my Nano but I'm not sure if I can maintain water quality high enough.
