i talked to the guy who gave me the goat.his wife thinks this is her first littler.he dont know what could have happened.this guy is a real good dude.he said he has a male he could give me to try again.also the woman at our firestation who i was going to give the kids to was sad.james the guy i got the goats from said he would give her two females if she wants.3 of his goats just had kids so they are filling up his yard.now how can we pass this up?
you see there are still some great people in this world

Well that's cool. Did you ask him if this has ever happend to him? Maybe it just was a case of smothering.

he has never had this happen a week after they were born.he said he has had kids that came out not eating or drinking then die but never after a week looking healthy and die.just wonder if my donkeys jumped the blockade i made and stomped them?but i didnt see anything that looked like trauma.i told my wife .she is in florida with family.she started crying .it just sucks .all living things should have a chance at life

I don't know, it sounds like a streach for the donkies to go that far out of their way to do that. Seems like if they were to stomp them then it would be more prone to happen in an opportunistic situation. At this point my money is on the smothering. Wouldn't hurt to beef up that blockade though if you give it another go.

the mother really wasnt around them much.i have seen them nursing but the mother was in the field most of the time.now that i saw the little ones i want to try again.i hate failure .they were so cute.i will go buy alot of fencing and t posts and block off a half acre back there when she gives birth again.this will separate the mom and little ones permanently until they are grown.still,i dont think it was the donks i would have seen some trauma on the little one if they got stomped.
