is there anyway to get more flow from the all glass mega-flows? they are rated for 1200 gph. is there anyway i can get this to increase to 2500? i dont want to drill this tank and i dont want the bulky powerhead or tunze look id like to run this current set up but with more flow and run a ocean motions system... am i dreaming or is this possible. they have (2) 3/4 in rturns, can i use these in conjuction with the (2) 1 in and increase my flow that way?
or do i concour my nerves and drill it? thanks in advance

The only way I could see you getting more flow, anywhere close to that is make those 1 to 1.5, and the .75 to 1 inch. But the other question is will the overflows be able to supply water fast enough to those pipes. Also you would need to figure out another place for your return lines.

Make your returns drains also. Make your new returns come up the back externally, as if you had a canister filter.
This should give you qanother 6-700gph.
I THINK that tank is tempered on the bottom. Do NOT drill tempered glass.

If you have not "purchased" the tank yet...
You can ask your dealer to "special Order" a tank from All-Glass with larger holes drilled in the overflow chamber...
There will be a slight "fee" for that but not too much..it just takes a couple weeks to get the tank though...
If you already have the tank...DO NOT DRILL or try to enlarge the holes...the bottom is tempered and will shatter...
However you can run "dual" standpipes 3/4" and 1" in the both overflows (they can handle that) and then run your return OTT (up the back and over the top) ..
The 2X1" and 2X3/4" stand pipes will give you "around" 1800-1900 gph "drain" capacity...
But you won't get 2500...:nope:

good catch on the glass, was thinking of my acrylic tanks. See one more reason for acrylic tanks :D

I can give 100's of reasons why acrylic is better than glass, but only 1 why glass is better than acrylic...
Glass doesn't scratch by merely looking at it.
