Can someone help me figure out how to get a picture to show up in the post?

open your pic on paint or soething and resave it as a jpeg...

Use the browse button right above the submit reply button, find your saved pic and click then hit submit. The pic does have to be in JPEG or similar format and within size allowed. HTH
