So, I am not hard working? Heck, this week alone 56 hours. I spent untold hours in college studying instead of partying. I spent 8 years in med school and residency where all I did was study, learn and work. You have the nads to imply I am not honest and hard working? I thought this country was all about hard word and reward. I guess you buy into the Marxist "to each according to his needs from each according to his means."
I worked HARD to get where I am. My mom and dad worked HARD to get where they were before they died. Yet you sit back and say I owe you something of MY labor?
You are what I would like to see change about this country. Instead of saying "someone has it better than me, you actually get out there and do something about it. It is sad.
What if that 3.5% may have been my budget for buying stuff from SWF.com. I'm sure they would rather have that 3.5%.
What if that 3.5% was my budget to buy the widget you are selling. Now I see how hard that will be on me, I go without something I don't need, and you go out of business.
I am proud of where I am. I make a very good living saving lives. I am not ashamed of my income. When Michael Moore gives all his millions to the gov't I'll give up more of my hard gained income.
In the mean time, class warfare is below the ideals of this country. We all have equal opportunity, but no where in the Constitution is an equal outcome defined. You have to work hard to get it, not have the gov't steal from someone and give it to you.
I hope you would require LeBron and all the celebs/ atheletes to give up their wealth for playing a game. I make my (much smaller) salary fighting disease and saving lives. I'm not really worth more than I am paid now. I have what I need and some of what I want.
Have you told parents that their daughter will not be coming home from prom as she was killed in a car wreck? I have. They can't pay me enough to look into the dad's eyes, and hold the mom's hand while we look at her dead body. I hope I was able to help them in some little way, we tried to make their daughter look as presentable as possible. I said comforting words and sat with them as they grieved.
You are right, I am not hard working.
Death and taxes, both are inevitable. How much 'hard work' did you put into the building, maintenance, and management of this apartment complex your father owned? I think what Vinny was trying to convey, was your ticked for paying these higher taxes (which believe me, I'm with you 100% on that argument), yet you do have the apartment complex worth apparently several hundred thousands of dollars that you inherited on the back side. Like Vinny, when my parents passed, I wasn't left with much of anything monetarily. Yea, it sucks you have to pay the extra taxes. However, unless you put a lot of time and money into this complex while your father was alive, then it's essentially 'free money' that YOU actually didn't 'work' for.
