only thing i can sugeest about sps is making sure u have all the conditions u need to make them happy....
for example pleanty of lighting, pleanty of flow id say a minimum of 30x's per hour turnover, very clean water, very stable water conditions, a constant supply of alk and calcium.... seems like alot but if u get them all in line they are just as easy as other corals
as far as begginer sps corals i would go for tank raised coral frags from other reefers ( always do a dip or a QT before putting in tank lots of issues with pest these days) then aqua cultured sps which are more forgiving then wild ones... i would stay away from wild corals for a while until u get the others happy and growing... wild ones are more tricky and unless u have a very high quality system they seem to only have a 50/50 shot of survival... odds go up with the more stable your system is....
as which kinda corals id suggest.... the following:
any thin brnaching Staghorn corals.... allows for easy pass of water by polyps
milleporas seem pretty hardy
acropora validas are nice corals
acropora youngei aka "slimers" pretty easy and fast growing
various forms of monti's
try to stay away from the thicker more compact corals at first since these seem to demand a highh amount of flow to get into the center of the coral u can try later when u feel more comfortable
anyways thats about it keep me updated good luck
