Just got back from Mexico and I saw the most beautiful fish ever. I think it was an Angel fish, or maybe a tang. It was mostly black, with bright blue fins and tail, and one small yellow spot on both sides on his side. I tried to get some pictures with a cheapo underwater camera, so I will post a picture if any turn out. He stayed in the reef mostly but I think that I got a few pics. Anybody know what it might have been? :notsure:

I did a couple searches on a few sites under dwarf and large angels, as well as tangs, and didnt find anything similar. How large was it? Did you get a good pic? Even if its blurry, that would help.

From high above I would say he might have been 6 to 8 inches. I pick the pictures up Monday so I will post the best one that I have. Thanks for looking. I also can't find anything close. But I will not give up... BEAUTIFUL FISH......:happyfish

Ok, that rules out a dwarf angel (which I figured anyways). With large angels and some tangs the color changes with age, so it may be difficult to say.....so I will wait for the pic. When you said mostly black, did that mean the body was black with the blue fins and tail or the body had some other color to it? I was looking more for the yellow spot either way.

Nope it was neither one of those. THanks though. It was all black (from the surface anyway) with bright blue fins and a big yellow spot toward the rear tail on both sides. I pick up the photos tomorrow so hopefully one will show him good. THanks for the help.

Well I got my pictures today, and of course none of the fish turned out too good. Here he is though, so hopefully someone knows what he is. I watched him for a long time, he was awesome and beautiful. I most find one......

Hey thanks Kip. THat could be the one. I will check that site. He was very dark bodied, and the yellow spot was much bigger, but that is by far the closest one I have seen. Thanks again.
